Parks

Biggs has Five city parks -- quite a complement for a small community.
  • Family Park is owned and operated by the city on a city block bounded by B and C, and Eighth and Ninth Streets. Completed in 2006, with additions in 2018 this park features a skate park, playground, basketball half-court, covered pavilion, BBQ's, and picnic tables. The park shares the site of the city's 1936 city hall/jail building, a historic treasure waiting to be restored.

  • Downtown's "Pocket Park" is the centerpiece of the business district and site of the living City Christmas Tree. A tree lighting ceremony the first week of December celebrates this small park's delightful display of holiday decorations.

  • Rio Bonito Park is also maintained by the city, although it is on school district property, adjacent to the baseball and football fields. Rio Bonito was refurbished through a public-private partnership between the city and SunWest Milling, resulting in new picnic tables and improvements to the parking area, the restrooms and the playground.

  • Trent Street Park is located on Trent Street near 5th Street.

  • North Biggs Estates Park is located at the corner of 4th and L Streets.

The City Public Works crews perform park maintenance.
